| [Objective]To summarize the experiences of GAO Gufeng, at the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, who treated patients with good prognosis.[Method] Regulating and researching the “Si Ming Yi An” and “Si Ming Xin Fa” by GAO, analyzing GAO’s theory and experiences of treatment, and analyzing the reasons of“treating patients with good prognosis”. [Result] A lot of cases of GAO reflecting the theory of treatment that “cannot treat what you diagnose without deep thinking”, such as cannot arresting blood when bleeding, cannot arresting sweating when you see it, cannot clearing heat when internal fire, cannot inhibiting acid when heartburn, cannot defecating when constipation, cannot removing stagnation when you see it, etc. [Conclusion] GAO paid his attention for the etiology and primary causes when he treated, the theory of treatment, "cannot treat what you diagnose" without deep thinking, is the reason of good prognoses, which is worth for us to study. |
