[Objective] To explore Professor XU Luzhou's clinical experience in the treatment of diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome. [Methods] The clinical experience of Professor XU Luzhou and his thoughts on prescription and medication were introduced from the aspects of etiology, pathogenesis and prescription of diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome. A proved case was presented.[Results] Professor XU Luzhou believes that the diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome is dominated by dampness and heat in the prodromal and the early stage, the treatment principle should be clearing heat and dampness, strengthening the spleen and facilitating transportation.
